ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Ren Ke is an editor/journalist in Domestic News for Overseas Services Dept. of Xinhua News Agency. At the political and cultural news desk, Ren focuses on topics ranging from politics, foreign relations, to military issues. He won Chinese News Awards in 2014 for the report of China's first space lecture. He also won People’s Liberation Army News Awards for reporting the Army’s grassroots units in 2012.
Ren graduated from China Foreign Affairs University in 2006. He was Xinhua's correspondent in Beirut, Lebanon, from 2009 to 2011. In June 2011 he was assigned to Libya to report the civil war for one month. Ren was Xinhua's correspondent in Taiwan for three months at the end of 2012.
ABOUT THE TALK:
The topic will focus on how to report Chinese stories, especially political stories to foreign audiences, and how to find the interests of foreign readers in those stories that may not be so interesting to local people in China.
In addition, Mr.Ren will also talk about his unique experiences in journalism both in China and in the Middle East.
