Personal Profile

Xinzhou Xie, Ph.D. in Management, is the Dean and a Doctoral Advisor at the Institute of New Media, Peking University. He serves as the Deputy Director of the National Steering Committee for Professional Degree Graduates in Journalism and Communication and has been recognized as a National Leading Talent in the News and Publishing Industry. Professor Xie has authored over 10 academic monographs and published more than 200 research papers in domestic and international scholarly journals. He has presided over several major national research projects, including the Key Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China "Research on the Development Management Theory and Policy of New Media" (71633001), the Major Project of the National Social Science Fund of China "Research on the Governance System and Regulatory Model of Network Content with Chinese Characteristics" (18ZDA317), and the Major Project of the Ministry of Education's Philosophy and Social Sciences Research "Research on the Impact and Utilization of the Internet and Other New Media on Social Public Opinion" (07JZD0037). His academic excellence has been honored with numerous awards, including two First Prizes for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Ministry of Education, three Second Prizes for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Ministry of Education and Beijing Municipality, one Excellent Textbook Award from the Ministry of Education, and two Second Prizes for Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences from Beijing Municipality (10th and 14th sessions).
