Xiuli Wang is currently an Associate Professor in the School of New Media and the School of Journalism and Communication, as well as the Director of the Center for Social Media Research at Peking University. Her research interests include human-machine communication, health communication, and international communication. She has published in both English and Chinese journals, including New Media & Society, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, and Computers in Human Behavior. Her recent books include Health Communication: Theory and Practice, China in the Eyes of the Japanese, Winning American Hearts and Minds: China’s Image Building Effects in the 21st Century, and Social Media for Social Good: Cases and Best Practices. She holds a doctoral degree in mass communication from the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University, a master’s degree in communication, and dual bachelor’s degrees in economics and international relations, all from Peking University.
